Due light rail vehicle testing along the corridor of a week day, additional Sunday day works are required to complete general finishing works at light rail stops along Flemington Road. Works including carpentry, concreting and steel fixing will occur every Sunday day until 21 December
Out-of-hours works are required each Sunday until 16 December to undertake finishing works to the light rail corridor between Well Station Drive and Gungahlin Place. This work is required on Sundays to avoid light rail vehicle operations which take place between Monday and Saturday.
The work will involve small amounts of track, drainage, electrical and conduit repairs, inspections, landscaping, adjustments to traffic signals and finishing works to the stops. Hours of work will be 6:00am to 8:00pm every Sunday.
Work will take place within the median or, where required, on the surrounding verges of Flemington Road and will not involve road closures. There will, however, be requirements for lane reductions on occasion. Traffic management will be in place and highly visible throughout he works.
The equipment to be used includes excavators, elevated working platforms, hand tools, light vehicles, road saws, trucks, compaction equipment and jack hammers.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
