Out-of-hours works are required to apply temporary repairs to sections of asphalt that have sunk or are breaking up. The works will take place at or adjacent to:
- Ipima-Condamine intersection (Northbound direction of Northbourne Avenue)
- Masson-Girrahween intersection (Northbound direction of Northbourne Avenue)
- Sections of the Federal Highway between the Barton Highway and Philip Avenue
The work will take place each night, between 8:00pm and 6:00am, from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 December.
There will be no road or intersection closures, however there will be lane reductions in place at the site of these works. Traffic management will be operational and highly visible throughout the works, including signage and personnel.
The equipment to be used includes: a road profiler, trucks, light vehicles, asphalt compaction equipment and excavators.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
These works are designed to transform Canberra, making it more accessible and to provide greater commuter connectivity across an integrated public transport network. We appreciate the continued patience of the public and the support of the Canberra community as we carry out these works.
