Out-of-hours works are required to complete earlier adjustments to the light rail concrete track slab that took place in March near the intersection of Nullarbor Avenue and Flemington Road. This will involve workers using repairing cavities and filling them with rail setting compound on Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night (31 May – 4 June), between 11:00pm and 5:00am.
There will be no right-turn for southbound motorists looking to turn into Nullarbor Avenue. Detours via Well Station Drive.
The equipment to be used includes: vacuum excavation trucks, generators, light towers, jack hammers and heaters.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
These works are designed to transform Canberra, making it more accessible and to provide greater commuter connectivity across an integrated public transport network. We appreciate the continued patience of the public and the support of the Canberra community as we carry out these works.
