Out-of-hours works are required to install storm water drainage across Northbourne Avenue. The works will involve digging trenches between the verge and median and installing new storm water pipes, and re-covering and re-filling the trenches. These works will be taking place adjacent to the Elouera-Gould Streets intersection and Masson-Girrahween Streets intersection. Times and dates of these works:
- Masson-Girrahween Street intersection: 8:00pm – 6:00am each night, from Monday 10 December to Saturday 15 December.
- Elouera-Gould Street intersection: 8:00pm Friday 14 December to 6:00am Monday 17 Dec (Day and night).
There will be no road or intersection closures, however there will be lane reductions in place at the site of these works. Traffic management will be operational and highly visible throughout the works, including signage and personnel.
The equipment to be used includes: vacuum trucks, excavators, compaction equipment, road saws and hydraulic hammers.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
These works are designed to transform Canberra, making it more accessible and to provide greater commuter connectivity across an integrated public transport network. We appreciate the continued patience of the public and the support of the Canberra community as we carry out these works.
