Rail grinding along Northbourne Avenue and Federal Highway between Alinga Street and Flemington Highway intersection is scheduled to take place from 6:00pm to 6:00am from Monday 29 October to Monday 12 November.
There may be a temporary closure of approximately one hour to allow the grinding vehicle to pass.
Outside of this temporary road closure, there will be no change for traffic travelling northbound and southbound along Northbourne Avenue or Federal Highway during these works.
Traffic management will be in place and highly visible throughout the works, including signage and personnel.
The equipment to be used will include rail grinder and light vehicles.
The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used* and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
These works are designed to transform Canberra, making it more accessible and to provide greater commuter connectivity across an integrated public transport network. We appreciate the continued patience of the public and the support of the Canberra community as we carry out these works.
