The intersection of Barry Drive and Cooyong Street on Northbourne Avenue will be closed for 56hr from 10:00pm on Friday 13 July through to 4:00am on Monday 16 July.
The construction activities include rail saw cutting and concrete breakout and rail installation.
There will be no change for traffic travelling northbound and southbound along Northbourne Avenue at the Barry Drive – Cooyong Street intersection.
- The intersection will be closed to traffic turning right into Barry Drive and Cooyong Street from Northbourne Avenue and all through traffic along Barry Drive and Cooyong Street;
- The pedestrian crossing along the southern end of the intersection will also be closed, with all pedestrian traffic diverted to crossing at the northern end of the intersection.
Traffic management and road detours will be in place to divert traffic and will be highly visible throughout the works, including signage and personnel.
The following equipment will be used including: a road saw, jackhammer, vacuum truck, compaction roller, light vehicles and trucks.
Due to the nature of the work, some of the activity will be noisy. The project team will limit these impacts wherever possible by reducing the number of machines operating at the same time and turning off equipment when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
Thank you for your patience during these important works.
