Barton Highway/Federal Highway intersection closure 5 July - 8 July

With light rail from Gungahlin to the City now operating, there are still minor works to be carried out to complete the light rail corridor and surrounds. This is to ensure Canberra’s light rail system is quality assured now and into the future. Canberra Metro Construction appreciates the patience and support of our community as this activity takes place.

Construction Works:
Out of hours works are required for the installation of tactile paving and concrete kerb works.

The works will be taking place between 8:00pm and 6:00am from Friday 5 July to Monday 8 July

Traffic Management and Detours

There will be no right turn on to Barton Highway from Federal Highway.

There will be no right turn on to Federal Highway from Barton Highway.

There will be lane reductions for North and South flowing traffic.

 Additional Information:

The equipment to be used includes: light vehicles, light towers, vacuum trucks, road saws and concreting equipment as well as equipment required for repaving the area

The project team will ensure the number of machines operating at the same time is limited and equipment turned off when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used, and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum. 

 

These works are designed to transform Canberra, making it more accessible and to provide greater commuter connectivity across an integrated public transport network. We appreciate the continued patience of the public and the support of the Canberra community as we carry out these works.
