The Rudd and Bunda Streets intersection at Northbourne Avenue will be closed for two weeks from Wednesday 31 January at 10:00pm through to 4:00pm on Wednesday 14 February. The closure will be used to install major stormwater infrastructure.
Out-Of-Hours Works: For the majority of the closure, current standard working hours apply i.e. 6:00am to 8:00pm. However, by necessity, tie-in of the drainage to existing infrastructure will need to be completed out-of-hours. The time periods are:
- Friday evening 2 February through to Monday morning 5 February
- Friday evening 9 February through to Monday morning 12 February
Through-traffic on Northbourne Avenue will not be affected by the intersection works. There will be
no right turn access into either Rudd or Bunda Streets from Northbourne Avenue and no through-traffic between Rudd and Bunda Streets. Detours will be sign posted and on road traffic management highly visible.
The equipment and plant to be used includes roadsaws and quick-cut saws, jackhammers, excavators, hydrovac trucks, concrete trucks, plate compactor and rollers, light vehicles and trucks. Due to the nature of the work, some of the activities will be noisy.
The construction team will limit these impacts wherever possible by reducing the number of machines operating at the same time and turning off equipment when not in use. Noise blankets will be installed where practical. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
Thank you for your patience during these important works.
