Canberra’s first stage of Light Rail is coming to your area, and construction is well underway. This is an exciting time in our City and Canberra Metro is working hard to see this vision come to life.
Most light rail construction work is being carried out during day hours, however there will be some work that is required to be carried out at night to minimise traffic impacts and maintain the road network.
Line marking related works are scheduled to occur outside of normal work hours between Mouat/Antill Streets intersection (southbound carriageway) to Barton Highway intersection on 1 - 2 February 2018 from 1:00am to 6:00am each night.
These works also include adjustment to concrete barriers along Northbourne Avenue median.
The following equipment to be used includes a line marking truck, VMS boards, light towers, wheeled excavators and light vehicles.
Due to the nature of the work, some of the activities will be noisy. The project team will limit these impacts wherever possible by reducing the number of machines operating at the same time and turning off equipment when not in use. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
Thank you for your patience during these important works.
