UPDATE: Due to the unfavourable weather on the weekend, this work will now take place from 8:00pm Friday 2 March until 6:00am Monday 5 March.
The Condamine/Ipima Streets intersection at Northbourne Avenue is closed for approximately three weeks, from Monday 12 February at 10:00am through to 6:00am on Monday 5 February. The closure will be used to remove and replace road pavement.
Out-Of-Hours Works: For the majority of the closure, current standard working hours apply i.e. 6:00am to 8:00pm. However, by necessity, road tie-in to existing infrastructure will need to be completed out-of-hours from 8:00pm, Friday 23 February to 6:00am Monday 26 February.
Through-traffic on Northbourne Avenue will not be affected by the intersection works. However there will be:
- no right turn access into either Condamine or Ipima Streets from Northbourne Avenue
- no through-traffic between Condamine and Ipima Streets.
Detours will be clearly sign-posted and road traffic management arrangements in placements.
The equipment and plant to be used includes roadsaws and quick-cut saws, jackhammers, excavators, hydrovac trucks, concrete trucks, plate compactor and rollers, light vehicles and trucks. Due to the nature of the work, some of the activities will be noisy.
The construction team will limit these impacts wherever possible by reducing the number of machines operating at the same time and turning off equipment when not in use. Noise blankets will be installed where practical. Non-tonal reversing beepers will be used and workers will be instructed to keep noise to a minimum.
Thank you for your patience during these important works.
