Invitation - Light Rail Ready Event at Gungahlin Village, Sunday 12 August

You are invited to Canberra’s first ever Rail Safety Week celebration.

National Rail Safety Week, 13-19 August 2018, is an Australasian Railway Association (ARA)/TrackSAFE initiative aimed to raise public awareness about safe behaviour around rail environments. The theme for this year is, “Rail safety – it’s everyone’s responsibility.”

Our Light Rail Ready Event at Gungahlin Village will kick-off a week-long dedicated to draw attention to the behaviours that could lead to incidents on the light rail system. We are urging everyone in our community to take responsibility for their safety when in and around Canberra’s Light Rail.

Light Rail Ready Event, Gungahlin Village, 12 August - 10:00am - 2:00pm

A light rail vehicle will be parked at Gungahlin Place, but we cannot allow anyone on-board just yet. Post your photos on social media and add #RSW2018 #CBRRailReady.

Transport Canberra Buses offer a convenient way of attending the Event. Take a look at the map below for more details as you plan to join the celebration!
